Exhaust (Lamp)
While its form resembles an exhaust, this table lamp emits light, not fumes.
The lamp’s swiveling, duct-like body conceals the dimmable light source. Light exits a louver-controlled opening, which enables users to direct or diffuse the light as desired. Power and dimming is controlled at the lamp’s base.
This 12-1/4” tall by 6” wide prototype was created using a 3-1/2” diameter, L-shaped aluminum tubing - typically used for automotive exhausts. The inside of the tube is painted an off-white color for high reflectance that is easy on the eye. The routed walnut base houses the AC dimmer and lamp socket. The bottom is fitted with rubber for stability. A dimmable, warm color A19 LED light bulb is used as the light source.
